How to Apply to TMA in 4 Easy Steps!
Thank you for your interest in The Montessori Academy of Arlington!
Our admissions team will be working with you to make sure all your questions are answered and you have all the information you need for your family to feel at home at TMA.
Our enrollment process includes the following steps:
Schedule a tour of TMA and observe a Montessori classroom
This initial visit to the school typically lasts an hour and will be scheduled weekday mornings between 9:00am and 11:00am.
Make an appointment for a student evaluation (ages 3 through 6th grade)
- Early childhood age children will meet the teacher and spend a half day to full day in the classroom.
- Lower elementary students (grades one through three) and upper elementary students (grade four through six) will evaluate in the classroom for three days.
Contact our administrative office to schedule a time to meet with our Head of School.
During the 1½ hour interview, information about the classroom evaluation is shared,“fit & match” between the family’s expectations for their child and TMA’s vision is explored, and enrollment paperwork is given.
Upon acceptance, sign and return the enrollment contract and paperwork.
Please be sure to sign and return all required enrollment paperwork, along with tuition payment within two weeks. Upon receipt of a signed contract, the admission fee is non-refundable.
Complete and return all enrollment forms before your child's first day of school. STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ADMITTED UNTIL ALL REQUIRED FORMS HAVE BEEN RETURNED AND ON-LINE ENROLLMENT HAS BEEN COMPLETED.
Our enrollment policy is that no child shall be denied admission to The Montessori Academy on the basis of race, gender, color, religion, or national origin.
The following priorities are observed in determining admission:
- Classroom space availability
- Currently enrolled students
- Siblings of currently enrolled students
- Balancing of ages and genders in each classroom
- Transfers from other Montessori schools
- Date of application
- Student evaluation
If classes are full, prospective students will be placed on a waiting list. Returning students will be given priority over new students on the waiting list. The Head of School makes the final decision regarding student enrollment and class placement. Parents will be notified regarding their child's admission status and class placement.
