Annual Events

Although there's SO MUCH happening at TMA on a daily basis, here are some of our regularly scheduled Annual Events - from Feasts to Performing to Stepping Up, our students and parents look forward to these "traditional" TMA events every year!

TMA FallFest

Backyard Bash

The TMA community celebrates the advent of fall every year with our Backyard Bash, a fun-filled event featuring a variety of activities for the whole family. Event sponsorship is available.

TMA Feast

Classroom International Feasts

TMA uses the Thanksgiving season to be thankful for and to celebrate its cultural diversity through classroom international feasts. In addition to North American cuisine, parents provide dishes reflecting their cultural heritage. The result is that the school community is treated to a buffet of international delights prior to the Thanksgiving holiday.

TMA Drama

Music and Drama Performances

In the spring of each year, elementary students showcase their fine arts in two performances, music and drama.

TMA AnnualFund

Annual Fund

This is TMA’s main fund raiser with funds going to support school-wide programs and projects for both students and teachers.

Stepping Up Ceremony and Family Picnic

The milestone of the completion of another year of learning for all students is celebrated in May at our Stepping Up Ceremony. TMA’s sixth level graduates are recognized and lead the full-school procession over a bridge signifying another year of growth for all students. Community members also participate in election of representatives to the Board of Trustees.

The Event

Our primary spring fundraiser continues the celebration of community, food, and entertainment, with the addition of student art as auction items. This event happens because of the wonderful parent volunteers who devote time, energy, and creativity. Parents spend the early part of the evening eating, visiting, and bidding on silent auction items. A live auction completes a wonderful evening of celebration, giving, and community building.

Spring Thing and Art Exhibition

A TMA family favorite, Spring Thing is something everyone looks forward to! Join us for a celebration of art, culture, and student exploration.

Fossil Rim Family Expedition

Early Childhood families trek to Glen Rose each fall during students' Africa continent studies.

Latin Play

Each May 5th and 6th grade students produce and perform a multi-act play in Latin. This is a student-led project with two 6th grade directors who interview and select two 5th grade assistant directors. Students are responsible for all phases of production and serve on project teams responsible for Art (design and construction of sets and props), Technology (sound effects, music, special effects, and PowerPoint slides with translation of Latin lines to English), Commercials (writing, recording, and editing), and Marketing (program, invitation, and script changes/translation).

Valuing Diversity

National book award winner Andrew Solomon (Far From the Tree: Parents, Children, and the Search for Identity) discusses how teaching children to value diversity and accept differences can have a profound impact on society.

Step inside the Early Childhood program at TMA

This is a usual day of work for our Early Childhood students. They are all busy working and moving with purpose.

TMA was not just a school - it was our home.

"TMA taught my children how to be kind-hearted and independent individuals.

As a first-generation American who struglled to fit in at schools with little diversity, TMA's celebration of all cultures gave my children the joy of being proud of their background. I couldn't ask for more. Academically, they are always complimented on how bright and creative they are, and I'm forever grateful for the solid foundation they have received."
