Parent/Tot Program

The Parent/Tot program is an introduction to the Montessori method for both child and parent(s). During each one-hour class you will haveParent/Tot Schedule the opportunity to observe your child discovering the joy of learning as well as receive practical parenting advice.

Nature Walk Art Project

Let your toddler lead the way on a short nature exploration that will appeal to all five senses. Adults will stay in the background as the toddlers find objects for art projects, watch the butterflies, listen to birds, and explore the outdoor environment. The art project could involve glue and paint, so despite aprons, your child may get messy.

Practical Life and Independence

During this class, your toddler will engage in purposeful activities such as washing windows, sorting items by color or shape, cutting with scissors, pouring drinks, grinding coffee beans, and washing dishes. Your toddler will amaze you with focus, skill, and independence as he or she works on everyday tasks. Through exploration, these tasks nurture the development of motor skills and problem-solving abilities, while engaging the toddler’s curiosity.

Outdoor Water Activities

Outdoor activities give children more opportunities to speak and sing a little louder, while also allowing for more movement. Children will use their creativity and enjoy nature while painting murals and engaging in water activities outside. These activities will enhance large and fine motor skills, spatial awareness, and understanding of science concepts, while socializing with other toddlers. Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for getting wet. Feel free to bring a swimsuit!

Cooking and Food Preparation

Young children love to help with meal preparations in the kitchen. We will be preparing a meal which gives your child a hands-on experience using cooking utensils. By taking time to cook with young children, they learn simple arithmetic, sensory awareness, cause and effect relationships, cooperation, and to follow directions, all while enriching their vocabulary. The children will discover the joy of cooking by mixing ingredients, kneading bread dough, and practicing slicing, peeling, and spreading.

A brochure is available to print, fill out by hand, and mail to the school with payment.
